Nature Museum Fryslan
Voted 'Best Kidsproof Museum in Friesland' by the Museum Inspectors.
There is a lot to discover at the Nature Museum Fryslân: from a tiny woodlouse to the fourteen-meter-long skeleton of a sperm whale. From animals close to home such as geese and black-tailed godwits to animals from a little further afield, such as tigers, armadillos and walibis. Animals that now live on earth, but also animals that are extinct such as the bones of a mammoth and fossils that are millions of years old.
The Nature Museum is a museum for children, parents and grandparents. And for everyone who loves nature. Four floors full of information, special animals and plants, assignments, experiments, games and other surprises invite to be discovered. Doing and experiencing things yourself are central.
In the OnderWaterSafari (4+) you step into a vehicle that takes you on a journey through the underwater world of the Netherlands.
