Dutch Open Air Museum Arnhem
The Dutch Open Air Museum
The Dutch Open Air Museum is a cultural-historical museum and gives a picture of the Netherlands through the ages. You are taken on a journey through time from two centuries ago to very recently. In authentic buildings, objects and through stories. The people in the museum seem to have walked straight out of the past. Proud of their heritage, they inspire you with their stories. In the museum, there are fun activities for young and old.
Are the children going to work on the children's yard? Or would they rather play on the Zaanse Plein? And will it be poffertjes with icing sugar or will it be fresh currant bun from the baker? And don't forget a ride on the historic tram!
Canon of the Netherlands
The Dutch Open Air Museum proudly shows its presentation: The Canon of the Netherlands. The Canon of the Netherlands takes you along the fifty most important events in the history of our country. In ten enormous film sets you can see, hear and feel the highs and lows of our past. The Canon connects the history of daily life with the major events of the past. It is an interactive exhibition, where you don't just look, but do, discover and play. Digital techniques alternate with historical objects. From the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, among others.
